Glad to have helped  ;D  I just wish I could find Mary and Thomas Beckett's marriage entry.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Hi--
Thanks. I wonder what happened to John Wainwright, bapt. 1808.
Where did he go after his wife and one daughter died??
I do have the marriage of Thomas Beckett & Mary Wainwright--
that is how I found her last name:
"Thomas Becket and Mary Weanwight" married October 20, 1834 at Wem.
I really appreciate all the Wainwright information--and the information
down from John.

And I take it that you have the only baptism at Moreton Corbet -

Emma - daughter of Thomas (Labourer) and Mary Becket of Bircher Copice - 16 November 1834.

Not sure whether the Vicar is airing his views on this one - it is one of the few baptisms where the mother's name appears before the father's i.e. Mary and Thomas Becket.   :-\  Certainly not a long time between marriage and baptism  :o

There are other baptisms for children of Thomas and Mary Becket at Ightfield - about 14 miles from Moreton Corbet.

Hi--
I did not have that baptism of Emma--I have her death certificate from 1848 or 1849.
She died at 14 years old.Mary, the wife, died in 1848 or 1849--I have that death certificate too. Then Thomas remarries an Ann Harrison in 1849--I have that marriage. Then Thomas, Ann and son George go to USA in 1850. George (my ancestor)was born in 1836 in that area. I have his bapt. at Whixall, I believe. You found children bapt. Thomas and Mary at Ightfield--
maybe another Thomas and Mary??  THANKS!!
Stephen

This is a possible death for John - just need to find him in censuses also.

John Wainwright
Died December quarter 1892 at Wem age 85

Added:
There is a John Wainwright married to Ann living in Wem in censuses, varying places in Shropshire for birth.

Think this is the marriage, so not the same John:

Marriages December quarter 1847
 Ann Mellowship        Shrewsbury    18   245
John Wainwright    Shrewsbury    18   245
