Bombings in WW2 Lambeth/Kennington
« on: Monday 16 October 17 12:37 BST (UK) »
My family home was bombed in W.W.2 (twice) They lived in Lambeth and  Kennington.   Is there any records kept of where bombs were dropped and the dates?  Also would there be after pictures of these areas?  I think the address was 105 Vauxhall Street,Kennington.  Believe it or not, I am tracing the history of two chairs that survived a number of incidents and the bombings.
Looking forward to any help I can be offered. Thanks

You could try  LONDON BLITZ during 7th October 1940 to 6th June 1941 http://www.bombsight.org/#14/51.5047/-0.0763

Hi stan,  Thank you for posting the London Blitz page. This is very helpful.  All I need to do now is negotiate myself around the various towns/cities of London (coming from Australia , places are somewhat strange to me)
I appreciate your help. Thank you

Hi Stevie Steve,  Thanks for the map.  London must have been horrific during the blitz.  It looks like I may have found the bombing of my family.  Is there any record of the actual dates various bombs hit?
Thanks for your help.

There are records of each bombing at TNA (which I think were used to make up that map) but I'll be honest, I've been flummoxed by the indexing of them

Also possibly at LMA, but don't know what's available
Middlesex: KING,  MUMFORD, COOK, ROUSE, GOODALL, BROWN
Oxford: MATTHEWS, MOSS
Kent: SPOONER, THOMAS, KILLICK, COLLINS
Cambs: PRIGG, LEACH
Hants: FOSTER
Montgomery: BREES
Surrey: REEVE

Hi StevieSteve, Not familiar with these sites.  Is TNA - The National Archives?  I tried to negotiate my way around this site but still couldn't find details and dates of bombings.
Also what is LMA?
Thanks for your help.
