Anyone seen Catherine?(Barnaby)
« on: Tuesday 17 October 17 07:15 BST (UK) »
Hi

I have an almost invisible gggrandmother, Catherine Barnaby married Nathan Diggle in Manchester 1850s. We have the marriage and census with Nathan and children, also burial, I think at Moston but none of Catherine's family or life before marriage in Salford or Ireland

Sorry not been online much recently so I probably owe some replies. Feel free to jog my memory if I owe you a message

Thanks for reading

Best wishes

The only possible Catherine I can find in 1851 is on a transcription of the water damaged pages by Manchester and Lancs FHS.

The address is Silk Street and the entry reads
Catherine B...y Lodger 17 Ireland Drogheda.

I don't know if this is your Catherine but at least Drogheda is a starting point to look for a birth.

Hi

Thank you both for your prompt replies

Thank you we have the certificate but mines in storage so that's really useful. I've never found any links though to any family in the area

The witnesses are interesting coming from where I was up in Cumbria. Robert was made an apprentice as a young infant, I think because his father died young. They stayed close by In Salford but I never found any relationship. I think they were close neighbours

The census is interesting. When I first looked at this couple these werent available

I could do with looking at the rest of the household and the neighbours. My anxestrys dropped but I can soon sort it or are they on MLFHS?

There are very few Barnabys around never name from Ireland so Inbet it's them and Drogheda would be a likely place

Silk Street is a street the family knew well too

I'll have another look

Thank you that's brilliant and much appreciated

Best wishes

Hi everybody

Thank you very much for the replies so far

The 51 entry and the Drogheda link are all new but not sure where to go from here

Can I see more Of 51 anywhere?  Or buy the disks?

I can't find it

I looked at yhe twinain RC parishes over there on Irishgenealogy with no success. Any more info I could look for over her?

Thanks for reading

Best wishes
