My wifes grandfather ( Samuel Spowart ) was working for the admiralty and was based in Ceylon (Colombo) in 1945 /1946. He was working with company who were in charge of refilling the navy ships with coal for the journey back to UK. Does anybody have links on how I can find out company names or admiralty records on how he got there and when he left UK to work there. I have confirmation of his retrun journey to the UK in 1946 aboard SS Alcantara.
