Gradually tracking him down !
« on: Tuesday 17 October 17 17:18 BST (UK) »
I have been looking a long time for a great-uncle with not much luck but I have a breakthrough:

I have found his birth date - 1871
I have an 1871 census with his appropriate family - Devon
I have an 1881 census with his appropriate family - Devon
I have a 1901 census - Abercarn, Monmouthshire.
I have a death place for him Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorganshire
And a death date for him - 1958

I am missing an 1891/1911 census and if he ever married.
Name: Charles Henry Doble.

I would be grateful for any help to enable me to finish with him.  Thank you
Doble.  North. Garrish. Jewell. Gillard.
Vincent.  Spiller. Collings. Board.
Harris. Manfield. Manning. Salter. Eveleigh.
Strawbridge. Matthews. Sweetland.
Devon. NZ. Australia.

There is one on the free 1939 index that fits living in the same area you have a death for him

Hi This Charles in 1891 has the same pob as the 1871/1881 Upottery ( Honiton) no mention of middle name Henry and his birth registration?

Can't post post 1911 but try the same town as 1901.  From the occupation I assume its the same man but perhaps the family he was boarding with thought he was a little younger than his true age.  The incorrect town in Devon has also been added in a different ink.
