Security Alert - Krack Attack!
« on: Thursday 19 October 17 10:20 BST (UK) »
I have had an email from Norton warning of a Krack Attack risk which puts wifi connections at risk. The email address is genuine as when I googled it, I got the official site. I am Norton protected.
Has anyone else had this?

This article was on yesterday's ABC homepage (Australia)
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-10-17/wi-fi-vulnerable-to-hacks-after-flaw-discovered/9056334

I gather you just have to make sure your operating system is up to date.

Added: and be careful with public wi-fi - like in coffee shops etc.

Interesting.

Very seldom use public wi-fi, but it is always wise to be careful and make sure your devices OS's are up to date.

I rarely access the internet when I'm out, but with limited data on my phone plan I have been known to use public wi-fi occasionally. Not any more!

Thanks for that.  I rarely use public wi-fi but I did on Tuesday when I spent the day in hospital having tests - all well thankfully.

Fortunately, my 'phone doesn't seem to have been "attacked", although I do have security on it.
