I am trying to find the marriage of this couple who had 6 children baptised in Wootton under Edge from 1796 onwards.

Matthew Biddle married Mary Hicks in 1759 in Stinchcombe, but the entry shows he was from Wootton under Edge, but I dont seem to be able to find a birth c1736. There is a couple called Matthew & Sarah who have at least 1 child born about that time, can you help please.

I can find the following children baptised Wootton with parents Matthew and Sarah Biddle

Mary 1724
Martha 1734
Mark 1736
Katherin 1738
Robertiana 1740

They are all on familysearch so I am only looking at transcriptions and I wonder if Mark is a mistranscription for Matt. You'd need to see an image of the original to be certain.

I have just found the BTs for Wotton under Edge in the fs Catalogue and although the entry is not very clear it does look as though it ends with a k so probably is Mark although the Parish Register is not available for cross checking.

On the Forest of Dean Website under the Marriage Licence section - there are quite a number of Biddle's including Matthew Biddle over 21 Batchelor, Attorney at Law - Wotton under Edge and Mary Hicks of Stinchcombe 16 October 1759 and Matthew Biddle aged 30 a Widower married 17 July 1777 c1747 .... + Matthew Biddle of Wotton in 1723.  Lots of info to work with
