ROOT family - Barnardiston and surrounding area

My great, great, great grandmother, Harriet Root, was born in Barnardiston, circa 1815, baptised 1819. Her brother, John was born in Barnardiston and baptised in 1824. Both these children were illegitimate, mother Sarah Root, origin unknown.

John went on to marry Harriet Mayes/Mays, a local girl, in Barnardiston in 1852 and. as far as i am aware, they were childless.

Harriet married Edmund Elsden in Hundon in 1834 and I can trace her from there.

Does anyone have any idea where Sarah Root came from ?

A Sarah Root appears on 1841 census Barnardiston age 60 with John Root age 15 - both born in county.
Another family in the same property were Harriett Chapman 35 with 5 Chapman children

I do have all the census records. I just need to work back to before Harriet was born. I hit a brick wall a long time ago - left it to fester - and now I am back on the trail.

So who is Harriett

Harriet is/was my great, great, great grandmother. I can trace her and her descendants but I am totally stuck with her mother, Sarah. I cannot find Sarah in 1851 and there was a death recorded in Risbridge in the second quarter on 1842, but there are others later. She is not with her son, John in 1851.

Sorry I was thinking you meant Harriett Chapman who was in the same house in 1841

In Barnardiston, a John and Sarah Root (late Burroughs) baptised a daughter Ann, "born 15th April 1810, baptised 29th April 1810".  I couldn't see any other baptisms for this couple at Barnardiston but possible parents for your Sarah?
