Battalion War Diaries - help with abbreviations

could someone please tell me what it means when its says someone was "struck off strength"

also, when talking of Casualties, its says 10 OR FA - what does FA mean please?

OR=Other Ranks ie. men not Officers.
FA=Field Ambulance (a medical unit of around 100 +, doctors, orderlies etc.)
Forgot to mention struck off strength=no longer with the Batt.

Thanks Jim1.  I guess it was quite common for an officer to be 'struck off' and moved to a new Battalion?

Being struck off strength applied to all Officers & men who were no longer with their Battalion for whatever reason. It may be a transfer or a wounded man being repatriated.
