This looks right

1841 537/6/5

Damside Row, Bolton

George Smith   40 yrs
Alice Smith   35 yrs
Catharine Smith   15 yrs
Elizabeth Smith   15 yrs
William Smith   12 yrs
Mary Smith   10 yrs
Hannah Smith   8 yrs
Sarah Smith   6 yrs
Margaret Smith   1 yr

So you have an Elizabeth of about the right age.

William Smith, father to George, does not seem to come from the same birthplace as Elizabeth Smith Pendlebury.

Additionally, Elizabeth Smith, sister to William is still with her parents in 1851.

What evidence or basis do you have for thinking they may be related?

It's a long story but a link would likely answer a lot of questions.

Elizabeth Smith may well be the daughter of Richard and Jane Smith. 1841 513/38/17

Elizabeth Smith and George Frederic are a different generation and come from different places.

You will need to map out what you have together with what has been found here and see if there are connections. The surname Smith may not be the link if there is one  - perhaps it is through spouses.

Sorry if I'm missing something, but from the various posts above....

If Elizabeth Smith (b. 1826) and William Smith (b. 1828) were siblings and Elizabeth married James Pendlebury in 1850 and William had a son, George Frederic Smith in 1860, is this not the link between Elizabeth and George Frederic I've been looking for?
