Two possibles for Peter, given his first son's name:

Inveraray & Glenaray
29 July 1798 Peter son of Duncan McArthur and Agnes McArthur

Kildalton (Islay)
15 April 1797 Peter son of Duncan McArthur - no mothers name given

Neither of these might be him as not all baptisms are recorded.

Here is the Birth Record I've homed in on:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4RPFEaaFr7yeXpZZHZPeEg4SGs/view?usp=sharing

and yes that's the family I've been looking at...it looks like they were shepherding...there are the ruins of two small cottages and sheep folds half way up the Glen.  The previous page of the census gives one other family, the Smyths, also in the Glen on census night.
Here is what I came up with a few years ago....

The Duncan and Katherine Bell bpt. looks good as the name of the second daughter is Catherine  :)

Don't think it's the Kildalton one as that is on Islay and they seem to stay around the same area.

I've had a good look on the 1851 but nothing so far. Will try later.

Just checked on the  1861 - the status of Mrs McArthur is given as widow. So Peter died 1841-1861. That 1851 census is really important.

I've been looking at the Valuation Rolls for Inveraray. This is what I've found ~

1855 Valuation Rolls of North Argyll, Inveraray

South Tullich - Widow A McArthur, tenant/occupier   (owner was Duke of Argyll)
