Cork City Na Fianna éireann - 1919 to 1922
« on: Sunday 22 October 17 07:47 BST (UK) »
Hello,

This is a real long shot but thought i'd try anyway, my Grandfather was the Honorable Secretary for Cork Na Fianna éireann during the 1930's, circa 1936 he applied for IRA Pension for himself and his Cork City Fianna comrades for recognition of their service supporting the Cork City IRA during the War of Independence. I recently found all his notes when compiling the applications. All the below men listed would have served with the Cork City Branch of Na Fianna éireann during the period 1919 - 1922. His notes have their names (first letter & Surname) and their addresses circa 1936, all of them would have been born around 1902 - 1904. I am very interested in finding out more about each of these men's lives after 1922, if anyone recognises a name and the address matches please let me know by posting or send me a private message, otherwise i'll just have to wait until they release the 1927 census:

J.Murray - Blarney Street

You could look for any likely matches on Irish Genealogy https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/

For example, re dathai’s post, there is a mention of Daniel Gamble.
Here is a marriage for a D G - Grattan Street

Hello Alan.
Have just found your post. The second name on the list, S Wall, was my mothers father and my grandfather Stephen Wall. Would love to have any info you have on him and his part in the cause.
