Vere Herbert Smith

Abergavenny, Wales
Event role   DEATH
Record set   Great Western Railway Shareholders 1835-1932

Executors are Elizabeth Smith daughter and James Herbert Smith son, is this your man?

Added: Think this is possibly the father? You give no DOB or POB

Hi Dundee and Milliepede,

Thank you for replying with your posts just to mention..

My Vere Smith was born 1806 son of John Smith born 30 MAY 1763 • Llanfihangel Juxta Roggiet, Monmouthshire, Wales.  Well this John Smith had a sibling called Vere Smith bapt 7 Jul 1761 Llanfihangel juxta Roggiet, and his son was called Vere Smith so this Vere Smith is a distant cousin :-) which I believe is the one that moved to Abergavenny...

Getting back to my Vere Smith I hav'nt found a death / burial date yet for him.. he was born/baptised in St Bridget, Netherwent. Monmouthshire. married Elizabeth Thomas (born 1808) married 1832 Penhow, Monmouthshire. children..Mary Smith born 1833 Penhow., Hannah Smith born 1834 Penhow, Thomas Smith 1834, Sarah Smith born 1840 died 1840. Susan Smith born 1840 Penhow my great great grandmother. William Smith born 1843 Penhowe, Maria Smith 1846 Penhowe.

Thanks

Elizlloyd

Getting back to my Vere Smith I hav'nt found a death / burial date yet for him..

Elizlloyd

He is the only Vere SMITH that I can see who was living in the registration district of Newport in 1881, so it is highly likely that this is his death and the age is incorrect.

Deaths September quarter 1885

SMITH, Vear
Age 68
Newport, M.
11a   109

Address and informant's name on the death cert might help to confirm.
