You do have to wonder about these threads - one which has lain dormant for six months and then receives a post out of the blue offering advice, often from a new member.

Is this someone being genuinely helpful, or are they advertising a product/service?

Yes.

Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

a-l, I don't know much about mobile phones but there will be a way of transferring them from your phone to a computer so that you have a backup copy of them. Make sure you do this so that if you do lose them from your phone you have a reserve set.  Search the internet for the model of your phone and the word backup.

Martin

Dropbox is the easiest to use..install on pc, create account, install on phone, log in on phone using the account already created... done.
Please acknowledge when a restorer works on your photos, it can take hours for them to work their magic

Please scan at 300dpi minimum to help save the restorers eyesight.

Good comment, Angus. It made me wonder too.

Photo restorers may re-use and improve on my posted versions. Acknowledgement appreciated.

Sometimes new members replying to very old threads does seem a bit odd, especially when it was a reply to a request that needed immediate help.

In this instance it seems that jiareal is a techy person as they have replied on other tech help required threads.

All three of their posts have been about Android. Fine, that may be their specialist subject and they may be very knowledgeable.

It's great that people give up their time and offer help to complete strangers on a forum, but having encountered spammers or advertising bots on other forums, I tend to question a lot of things I read especially when it's an "old" thread that has been resurrected and there's a URL to some place in the advice being given.
