Tunnels near Finneston St, Glasgow
« on: Thursday 26 October 17 16:53 BST (UK) »
As the suburban train leaves Glasgow Queen street it is initially underground. Once it emerges just west of Finneston street there appears to be tunnels  on each side of the line. Does anyone have any idea what they are, sewers? burns? I assume they run into the Clyde

Caledonian Railway Tunnel from Central Stn Low Level to Maryhill via Kelvinbridge and Botanic Gardens.  Check out the early 1900's OS maps for Glasgow at the NLS site.

There's a tunnel entrance on the right bank of the Kelvin below Kelvinbridge, might be closed now as it was used for wild parties, well! west-end wild parties!  ;D

Sorry, these tunnels you suggest are nowhere near the tunnels I'm referring to, also they are too small to take a train

g forgeron I dont know your answer but maybe https://urbanglasgow.co.uk/queen-street-station-t2757-s20.html might as they seem to have a hell of a lot of pictures relating to Queen St itself.
