David Peters, Bedwellty, Monmouthshire 1861?
« on: Thursday 26 October 17 17:46 BST (UK) »
Hi--
Looking for David Peters, b. 1793, Carmarthenshire, in Bedwellty in 1861 Census.
Wife was Ann, b. c. 1791, Carmarthenshire. Had daughter Jane, b. c. 1833, Monmouthshire.
Son Hananiah, b. c. 1826. Son David b. c. 1830.
From death index, looks like he died in 1866. Not sure when wife Ann died.
The 1851 Census lists him as David Pitturs--1841 he is David Peter.
Thank you.

Not found the family as yet but Hananiah would not have been with the family in 1861 as there is a passenger list for Hananiah travelling to New York in 1855:

Hannaniah Peters in the New York, Passenger Lists, 1820-1957

Name:   Hannaniah Peters
Arrival Date:   14 Jun 1855

Place of Origin:   Great Britain
Port of Departure:   Liverpool, England
Destination:   United States of America
Port of Arrival:   New York, New York
Ship Name:   Empire State

Links in with his birth/baptism:

Hananiah Peter in the England & Wales, Non-Conformist and Non-Parochial Registers, 1567-1970

By 1867 he may have been in California:

With regard to David and Ann

In 1841 & 1851 the family were living in the hamlet of Manmoel, Tredegar.

There is death for a Ann Peters: June 1852

Name:         Age at Death (in years):
PETERS, ANN       60
GRO Reference: 1852  J Quarter in ABERGAVENNY  Volume 11A  Page 77

This looks quite good for Ann, right age and place.

Will keep looking for David

Hi--
Thank you. Looks like the son may have gone to California for mining--maybe
for gold. I appreciate your help. I do have David's death record in 1866.
The informant was not related.

Well David was still living near his 1851 census house, Hafod Trisclod farm was in Argoed, and Argoed is only a mile from Manmoel where David was in 1851.

Some possible titbit for David:

Think this is David, address given is in the correct area.
