Did he marry Alice Clark 14 August 1836 at Stanford le Hope?
If so he was of Prittlewell Essex , witnesses James Clark and Emma Lee.

1851 census he is of Maldon that is some distance away from Stanford, however the family could have moved so if you don't find him in Maldon try Prittlewell.

Since his baptism isn't online you need to pay to search on the Essex site - SEAX.   Costs £10 for a day and you can look at the original parish records for both Maldon and Prittlewell.
