Joseph Hodgkins d. 1845
« on: Saturday 28 October 17 13:18 BST (UK) »
Hi All,
There is a Joseph Hodgkins' death Reg. In Wolverhampton in 1845 and I have been unable in the past to find the burial of my 4x Gt Grandfather who had children with Ann from 1788 - 1803 in W-ton.
Has anyone details of a burial in the vacinity please ?
I would think he would have 70 - 80 in 1845 and I believe he is the JH who married a Hannah Mattocks in 1809 ( both wid's ).
No record of Ann's death found but a death of a Hannah Hodgkins 1832 age 67 bur. St Peters W-ton but no ref. to husband.
Any help greatly appreciated.
regards,
robsdad.

Hiya

According to the GRO index the death in 1845 was a Joseph Hodgkin added 7

Have you looked on the indexes for Wolverhampton archives for a burial?

Hi Willow,
Yes his grandson died according to W-ton P R transcript on line in 1841 age 7
In Tower Street so don't know if there is some confusion there.
GRO also has him listed as 1841 age 7 and 1845 no age and different page nos.
No mention on W-ton P R transcript of the 1845 one

Hi Rosie,
Yes I have the second marriage and no he does not seem to appear on 1841.
His first marriage was I think to an Ann Adams in Aston, B-ham in 1787 as his first child in W-ton was Thomas 1788.
