1851 with family in Durham

possible death 1872 South Stoneham Hampshire

where is he between 1851 and 1872?

Wonder if he was a seaman.  A copy of the death cert should confirm his occupation

Both his parents had died before 1861 census.  Has he emigrated?  Or is he already dead: his brother Joseph names his first son after Ralph?
