Liverpool help needed please
« on: Monday 30 October 17 19:35 GMT (UK) »
Hi folks it's been a long time! !  Well finally I have the pdf BC of my Martha Pritchard from the GRO.   I haven't been doing anything on my tree for a while now but an aunt asked me questions so I did a bit of digging and bingo!! I have attached a piece of the BC where I can't work out the wording.  Under the words Where Born is a word I can't work out.  Also between the DOB and the address 6 Feather Street are some other words, I can see 11 1/2 I think.  Any help gratefully received.

I read

When Born
Where

Then the date, which you know  (23 22 November 1839)

Then:

11 1/2 AM  -  11.30 am

Then address as stated.

In the early years of Civil Registration some registrars put the time of birth for all births. Apparently one registrar in Stoke-in-Trent put times against all the registrations up until about 1850.

Time of birth is usual on Scottish certificates but I've only seen it a few times on Eng & Wales ones.

Interesting.  I thought it was only for twins.
