Facebook Messenger help, please!

Hi peeps

If I click on Messenger (l/h side of my FB screen) the box where I can type my message is only one line of text high and I can't work out how to make it larger.  Although it shows an up and down arrow, which suggests I can scroll, it's very wooden and unresponsive. 

Any ideas, anyone, please?

Hi, mine has only one line showing (although the smilies etc are at the end of this line rather than under it and no arrows) too but when you type more than one line of your message it automatically goes to two/three etc.

Well, yes but after I've typed the first line and it moves to the second, I can no longer see what I'm typing.  Also, if I want to scroll up to see what I've already put, it's a pain.

Mine also automatically goes up to the next line, but I can still see what I have typed and the smilies are underneath. I can even scroll up to older conversations.   Not sure why yours isn't the same.   Perhaps you don't have the latest version of the app on your pc??

You didn't say if this is on phone, tablet, laptop or PC?

I'm on PC, running Windows 7 and Firefox, and my reply box expands as I type?

It's on a laptop running Windows 10 and IE.

I have it on the pc as well, Windows 10 on Firefox, but on my phone I often get updates for the Messenger app

Its no help to you whatsoever (sorry!), but mine did exactly the same thing for a few weeks then somehow just sorted itself out & is now as it should be.  I'm also on Windows 10 & ie11.

If you click on the ? icon at the top right of your screen there's a facility to report a problem.
