Apologies chaps.  My mistake.   :-[  It's not a brother.  Family's best guess is that it's a friend or some sort of cousin.  :-[

One last question on this though please - Can anyone enlighten me as to what "826th Area Emp. Co. Labour Corps" actually means?   :-*

All the glamour goes to the men in the trenches facing the enemy at close quarters.  Much less attention is given to the work of the Labour Corps and others behind (sometimes in) the lines whose contribution is much undervalued.

The definitive book on the Labour Corps is John Starling's "No Labour No Battle".
