The Mannix family from Cloustogue, Doneraile, Cork
« on: Wednesday 01 November 17 14:35 GMT (UK) »
Hello.   Just wondering if anyone could help me locate any information about the Mannix Family from Cloustogue, Doneraile, Co Cork ?

In particular the children of Denis Mannix (1844 - 1892) and Eilleen Murphy (1841 - 1925),
From what I have learned their children were....

Mary Mannix, born 17 Oct 1869
Daniel Mannix, 7 Jul 1872 married Catherine Ives in 1921 in Mallow
Hannah Mannix, 12 Apr 1875 married Edward Harrington in Wellesley MA, USA
Edmond Mannix, 14 Oct 1877
Catherine Mannix, 29 Sep 1878
Ellen Mannix, 29 Sep 1878
Margaret Mannix, 23 May 1881
Bridget Mannix, 10 Oct 1884
Agnes Mannix abt 1887 emigrated to MA, USA, married Walter W Smith in Wellesley MA in 1913, d 1960

I was hoping I might be able to find any descendants of them that remained in Ireland, or to discover any of their childrens names.

I already know about the family of Agnes Mannix - the one that emigrated to the USA, but it is the other siblings I am most interested in.

Thanks very much if anyone can help.

Hi Mike,

Edmond Mannix, Denis's brother, was my great great grandfather. I haven't researched Denis and Ellen Murphy's descendants yet but would be happy to share anything I have that is relevant. My birthdate for Denis is 1835 though but I'm pretty sure we're talking about the same person (I could be wrong about his birthdate). I am curious about Agnes though - she doesn't show up on my search for their children and its not a name that I've seen used in this family, although it may have come from Ellen Murphy's side.

Hope this helps

Deirdre

Hi Deirdre,. Thanks for your reply. I am a descendant of Daniel Mannix  (1872 - 1956) and Catherine Ives (1898 - 1971), so I guess Edmond would have been my great grand  uncle !

I'd be very interested to hear anything about Edmond and his family and descendants.  I'll send you a message as I can give you more details.

Mike
