Venue: Riverside Centre, The Quay, Newport, Isle of Wight PO30 2QR

Doors open: 7 pm talk starts 7.30 pm lasts about 40-45 minutes

Heralding the Heritage Resource Centre

Speakers : John Pulllen and Jon Matthews

The recently re-furbished West Chapel of Northwood Cemetery has been opened as a Heritage Resource Centre for the joint use of the Isle of Wight Family History Society and the Friends of Northwood Cemetery.

Volunteers from the Isle of Wight FHS will be available at the Heritage Resource Centre to help with family history research on:

Tuesdays 1 pm to 4 pm, Wednesdays 10 am to 1 pm and Saturdays 10 am to 1pm

Admission to talk: members of the Isle of Wight FHS = £1; non-members = £2

Parking at the Riverside Centre: free parking on site (you must register your vehicle with reception otherwise it might be clamped).

Alternative parking: off Sea Street about two to three minutes’ walk from the Riverside Centre free after 6 pm.

This will be an opportunity to talk to members of the Isle of Wight FHS and members of the Committee.

The Isle of Wight Family History Society is for all those who want to research their ancestors.

Members include people with island ancestry who live on the UK mainland or elsewhere in the world as well as those who live on the Isle of Wight but whose families came from elsewhere.

The experience and knowledge of our members range from those just starting their researches to those who have over 30 or 40 years’ experience - one of the aims of the Society is to share the experience to help those just starting.
