Are there any earlier baptisms as I've found an interesting possibility for a marriage ~

Had a look at the image - I think Morvey has been mistranscribed - it reads Mothvey, which could well be a (poor) English spelling of Myddfai

I can't see an earlier baptism before 1801 (looking on the 'net')  Llanboidy, Carmarthenshire - a parish in the union of Narberth, lower division of the hundred of Derllys, County of Carmarthen.

As Rees THOMAS was a Colier - not sure where the 'pits' where (everywhere in Wales!) - as yet, no idea when he died, and if the 1841 census is the correct Dinah THOMAS - living in the Parish of St Peters aged 84 c1757)

I read the occupation on the 1801 baptism at Llanboidy as "Soldier"?

Had another look at the baptism of Rees THOMAS in 1801 and the father's occupation does appear to be Soldier.

Been checking on the National Archives - and there are 'some' Rees THOMAS, but also Thomas REES and these appear to be on FindmyPast (don't subscribe)

There is a burial of a Dinah Thomas of Carmarthen, Sept 4 1844 at Abergwili* , aged 90

Previous burial at Abergwili  of Rees Thomas, March 9 1832,  agd 82

Interesting that on the 1871, Rees (jnr) is recorded as Rees D Thomas - RG10/5296/27/24

* suburb of Carmarthen these days!
