Residents of an address.
« on: Monday 06 November 17 02:51 GMT (UK) »
hello all,
I am trying to find the original occupants of an address in Crumlin. Most of the estate was built c1935 so I thought the electoral rolls which start at 1939 should help. Unfortunately, they've been taken offline. Any suggestions on how else to look for this information?
Thanks for your time.

Hi Rathmore, thanks for your time.
I do have them on the census but I was after the residents of a house in the 1930s.

My GG grandparents lived at 56 Leighlin Rd from at least the mid 30s and were probably the first to move in there. Their eldest son moved into 58 Leighlin Rd at some stage. He was married in 1941, so I don't know if he moved in before his marriage. He married a widow who had 5 children and I'm curious as to where they were living. Both houses only left the family in the 2000s, so it was a long relationship with Leighlin Rd.

Have you tried the Registry of Deeds.
http://www.prai.ie/registry-of-deeds-services/

The deeds for both of those houses should be held there. If they did not own the houses the deeds will give the name of the owner and if it is one of the Councils they might have names of tenants for the houses.

Thank you, myluck. Mary was my great-grandmother. I knew the date of death but not the cause, so I do appreciate you supplying the link.

Are you (or someone else) able to read the first word in the cause of death? The second is Fibrillation and then cardiac failure.  It also appears on a couple of other entries on the same page.

so the widow was living next door to your relative from 1936 or earlier
