Baptism record for Richard Molesworth in Dublin
« on: Tuesday 07 November 17 08:41 GMT (UK) »
Looking for baptism 1751-1752 in Dublin for Richard Molesworth...no accredited or acknowledged connection to the well-known Molesworth family of Dublin as yet.  Parents unknown.  His Dublin birth is claimed on admittance to Greenwich Hospital in 1810 after a long Naval career.  Married Portsmouth 1780 and his family resided in that area from that time.
Many thanks
Serena

Thank you to all for your interest. Richard’s life from 1780 including marriage to Mary Lowance is known.  It’s his parents and baptism which is unknown but essential to confirm his ancestry.
Appreciate your contribution.

Only one I can see is Richard Nassau baptised 1748 son of Lord and Lady Molesworth
http://www.rootschat.com/links/01l0t/
You have to view the image to see Lord and Lady on the original.

Records are far from compleat for these early dates.

I would like to see an outcome for this too. I have spoken to someone who has done the dna test, and demonstrates that Richard should be related to the main Molesworth line. I don't believe Bysse is his father though. Maybe Richard was a nephew of 1st V.Robert Molesworth. Do you have death certificate, or knowledge of where he is buried?

Thank you for your reply.
Richard died in Greenwich Hospital in 1814 and was buried at St Alphege, Greenwich on 24 October. I have no death certificate.
His youngest son Arthur b. 1798, was enrolled in the Greenwich Naval School when he was first admitted to the Hospital in 1810, since Richard was a widower.
Thank you
