Travel from Canada?USA to the UK
« on: Tuesday 07 November 17 12:05 GMT (UK) »
I  have family who went to Canada and the USA as follows:
James Davies b1867, Painter and Decorator Liverpool to Boston 18 July 1911 on the Cymric.    Wife Amelia Hannah Davies b1878 Liverpool to Nova Scotia 3 June 1913 with sons John Pearson and Richard Goring on the Cymric.
I know they returned to the UK but have no idea how to find out when!!!!!!    It must have been before 1923 as Richard was married then.

Any ideas???     Thanks in advance.

Have had a look at the UK Incoming Passenger Lists and there is a James Davies, a painter along with sons John and John and Richard returning to Liverpool from Boston on board the Arabic on 27 May 1914. There is no sign of Amelia. It also states that their last place of permanent residence was England and the country of future permanent residence was "Foreign Countries".

Sandra

many thanks to you for this info.    It looks like James went to Canada in 1911, family followed in 1913 and he visited his half sister E Murgatroyd in 1914 prior to returning to the UK.

I have seen EM on the 1940 Lawrence census and that is indeed the family you have found on the 1881 census.
