Making a group email list
« on: Tuesday 07 November 17 20:40 GMT (UK) »
I need to send emails every few weeks to about 20 people. I use hotmail/outlook, and have just been looking for on line help with setting up a group. As usually happens when I do try, I don't get beyond first base. This time the screens shown are nothing like I am seeing, so I can get no further. This is obviously not as easy as it should be, as my techie son refused some months ago to have anything to do with it and set me up with an entirely different system. This has drawbacks from my point of view, and I would really like to be able to use my email. Any help appreciated.

I could be way off the mark here, but if this is Outlook online, do you

  • Click on the 3x3 grid in the top left hand corner to open up the Office Applications (such as Mail, Calendar, People)
  • Click on People
  • Click on the down arrow by New and select Contact List
  • Give the list a name and start typing in the name/emails, clicking on them if Microsoft auto-completes
  • Save the list (Save button is in the top bar)
  • Go back to Mail (can use the 3x3 grid in the top left corner again)
  • For a new email you should be able to type in your list name as an address

Brilliant! Thank you. That is the screens that I see, and I have added a couple of names to test it.
