Have you looked them up on the 1911 census to establish birthyears/birthplaces plus details of any other children born between 1903-1911?

Very nice Carole, that's the kind of helping hand I was looking for.
I had tried the census but either there was nothing or I was clumsy.
I can probably take it from what you have given me.

Bessie's my mother.
One sibling, Joseph, a couple years older.
Emigrated to Canada about 1910-12 with William first, then sending for the family once he had acquired a horse and built a tent in the wild west.

You are absolutely correct and the moment your email popped up I was on that very page. I know for certain that is home because of the name Brookshaw. My mom corresponded with a Lillie Brookshaw all her life.

I won't go too far with this because it could become obsessive and all I really want to do is visit the Hare and Hounds and see the place where my grandparents, William and Marianne, grew up.
