On My GGF John Morgan Turner death cert 1921 it gives the address of death as Tallow Factory Anfield Plain and the informants address also as Tallow Factory Anfield Plain
What the hell was Tallow Factory ?
A street ?
An apartment ?
Did they live in the corner of a candle factory ?
totally bemused
any ideas local Durham people ?

The Tallow Factory was on Greencroft Road, there were four houses according to the 1911 census.

This looks like the location of the Tallow Factory, according to the 1911 Census, it came just before Pontop Terrace http://maps.nls.uk/view/120934902#zoom=4&lat=1683&lon=14985&layers=BT

In 1865 there was a tallow chandler factory at South Pontop. The factory stood on the right side of the road just past the present Greencroft School
