Fonts in St. John the Baptist, Cirencester
« on: Friday 10 November 17 18:05 GMT (UK) »
There are 2 fonts. That, which is much older than the other, is reported to have been thrown out in the 18th Century and not returned until 1865. Is anyone able to refine these dates at all. I am interested to know which font was in use in 1705.
When both were there, was the pretty marble font only used for special baptisms in the Lady Chapel? I should be most interested to know more. Many thanks, Toby.
