CURRIN, Grahamstown, South Africa
« on: Saturday 11 November 17 17:45 GMT (UK) »
I have three photos of my ancestors that I recently received. They appear however to be overexposed or are glossy photos that have been photographed. Is there any one who could make the first of them clearer with more definition. The photo is of Richard CURRIN Snr the Town Crier of Grahamstown. Thank you in anticipation as I was recommended to try here.

Thanks for responding. I think I need to try and locate the originals to get better copies. Appreciated.

Hi, SantaSandy
Welcome to Rootschat.

I’ve produced a hybrid picture, using another image to give some depth to yours. The eyes and outlines are genuine but any texture is not. It makes a picture but there’s just no telling if it’s close to the original or not. As Japeflakes and Wiggy have indicated, there’s no detail at all to tease out, as you can see in the closeup below.

Cheers, Peter.
Convicts: COSIER (1791); LEADBEATER (1791); SINGLETON (& PARKINSON) (1792); STROUD (1793); BARNES (aka SYDNEY) (1800); DAVIS (1804); CLARK (1806); TYLER (1810); COWEN (1818); ADAMS[ON] (1821); SMITH (1827); WHYBURN (1827); HARBORNE (1828).
Commoners: DOUGAN (1844); FORD (1849); JOHNSTON (1850); BEATTIE (& LONG) (1856); BRICKLEY (1883).
Outlaws: MCGREGOR (1883) & ass. clans, Glasgow, Glenquaich, Glenalmond and Glengyle.

Thanks for the response to my request. All efforts are appreciated but obviously the integrity of the photo has been compromised with the copying. Greatly appreciated Have a great day. Cheers Sandy
