WWII records - royal Navy
« on: Sunday 12 November 17 18:15 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I am lucky enough to have some medals of a relative of my husband who served in PQ17, including a Russian awarded medal. I want to mount them for our daughter but am trying to trace information about his service to include with the medals - can anyone help me. I have subscribed to Forces War Records but no trace of him comes up.

Walter Bonney. Royal Navy. 20 Oct 1917 DoB. official number JX223739. Period of service 18th Sept 1940 - 23 Oct 43.

Im simply after some additional info to put in the frame with the medals.

any thoughts?

many thanks

Service Records for all personnel serving after 1920 are still with the MOD.
To apply see:
https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military-service-records

There is usually a fee of £30.
