ITM Lookup please

Have been trying to find family members on Paperspast.
Have come across a wedding of  Miss Hazel Thornhill to MR H Macdowell Smith. The Wedding took place at All Saints Church Gladstone 9 November 1915.
Would like the ITM if possible so i can confirm this as my Hazel.
Can not find a marriage on our BMD.

Hi Carol,

There is a school record for a Hazel Thornhill, attending Waihopai School, in 1891 with father being John Thornhill ..... using his middle name as found in Janette's Reply #4.

To see if these are the parents as mentioned above. There are two options you could do.  If you aren't prepared to pay out dollars yet and the ITM will not show the parents names, you could try for the 1915 probate for George John Thornhill held at Wellington, which Spades may spy when he sees the subject title, and offers to get it for you, to see if Hazel is mentioned or ask for a look up of the mothers death notice in 1924 under the surname of Gourley.

Hi Carol

The only time an ITM notice will record the name of a parent, is when one of the parties to the marriage is a "minor", and a parent is giving his / her permission for that minor to marry.

An Intention to Marry notice is not a substitute for a marriage record.

*  Maybe if you can explain how you come to have the name of Hazel in your "tree" already, then we may be able to help you further (and save you the expense of unnecessary BDM "printouts" ).
