Harriet Duffy(1805-1889) , maiden name ?
« on: Sunday 12 November 17 18:50 GMT (UK) »
Am driven demented bout my 3x great grandmother in my family tree. Her name is Harriet 1805 - 1889 her husband is John Duffy 1801-1889. No wedding details as most records for 1800-1835 are impossible to find online. Place is Bahola Mayo, I even paid for her daughters marriage cert only to find her father only in attendance! They had to have moved to Yorkshire circa 1845 ish as not in censy 1841 but are in 1851 yet same thing no Maiden name on anything on ancestry n other sites etc.... Any ideas please???

Should famtree's post (reply #13) be a new thread, with a more precise title? The subject of famtree's search, Harriet, is from a different family and was living in a different county, Yorkshire, from that of the original poster's, who was Golding in Liverpool.

Topic split off with new title.

It is a regular thing when one thread gets hijacked by another.

Hi FamTree03

Any ideas? Yes . . . . .

Why not give all the details that you know?

eg 1851/61 details should you know them?

" daughters marriage cert only to find her father only in attendance! "
How do you know that "he was on his own " ?
Do you mean that his was the only signature you recognised?
etc.

Come on. Rootschat is here to help if we can, but we need details . . . . .

John & Harriet lived in Hull.
1861 with 4 children, Hannah, Catherine, John and Patrick, all children born Ireland c1839-1845. A grandchild with surname Lowery is with them. Nearby is a young couple called Lowery with more children.
They remained in Hull 1871 & 1881.
1871 daughter Ellen and son John with them.
