Thank you.
I can’t see them in 1851 and for some reason, I can’t access any trees. I have tried earlier.
Do you have the 1851 reference please?

Hello,
I have looked at some published trees now for your family but the ones I can see are not very helpful. The screenshot you have posted does not show the source for that birth.
If you have them in 1851 would you give the details please.
I will continue to look but it would be useful if you could point us in the right direction.  :)

I couldn't find Harriet & John in 1851 either. I thought that the elder Hannah I noted in a previous post may have been their daughter with her aunt. Names may have been incorrectly transcribed on indexes I was looking at.
What was their address in 1851?
Were any of Harriet's children born in England?

Hi famtree03,

We have that information in the censuses it is just 1851 that is missing.
Perhaps they are not on 1851 in Hull?

Am confused someone keeps posting that harriet is from another topic or thread and different country

I only joined recently and as far as I know I started this very topic about my descendants from Mayo Ireland and the search for my great grandmothers Maiden name.

All replies are about my family Duffy & Lowery so I do not know why or who keeps posting that I did something wrong, one poster says I "high jacked the thread"
Moderator please help, am I doing something wrong here?

Where was Harriet in 1851?
There were 2 girls called Hannah Duffy at 16 Mill St., Hull, in the household of Michael & Mary Lyon. The elder Hannah, aged 12 is a match for Harriet's daughter, Hannah in 1861. Her relationship was described as "cousin". A Bridget Duffy, 38, wood seller, was "aunt"; Mary Duffy, 16 was another cousin. The younger Hannah, aged 5 may have been "daughter".  Harriet & John Duffy lived at Leaks Court (?), Mill St. in 1861.
1861. The same Bridget Duffy seems to have been at 21 Mill St. with daughter, Ann, 15 (possibly the younger Hannah from 1851).
Another Duffy family, headed by another Bridget,  also dealer in firewood, was at 62 Mill St. in 1851. She had 3 children born in Ireland and 1, Anthony b. Leeds 1843. Lodgers were Patrick & Betsy McLane.

Yes these are my family Ellen is daughter of Harriet & John Duffy as is Hannah.
Bridget Duffy is Johns sister
And yes all the Irish families that came over 1840's famine time in Hull lived or lodged in Mill Street area

I don’t think anyone has posted that you did something wrong. Your initial post re Harriet was on another thread which must have had a surname connection or something.
It often happens when people like yourself are searching and spot a name.
The moderators then make a new thread just so that your query can be dealt with as best we can.

I have been confused because nowhere can I see John and Harriet in 1851 and more specifically a reference to ‘Bohola’.
I have seen a public tree which gives a birthplace of ‘Tombohola’ but no supporting evidence.

As you say, there are several Duffys living in the same area in Hull. They may be related.

I have tried to follow some family members to see if they give a birthplace.
The only one I can see is Patrick b 1845 who marries Hannah (I think it was) and he shows Aghamore. Do you know if that is the same Patrick as yours?

Some parishes in Mayo do have registers going back to 1830s etc but Bohola and Aghamore do not.

Unfortunately, as John and Harriet did not have any children in England, to check her maiden name and as Duffy is a common name it is difficult to find records to help your search.
