Hi,

I think it's possible that Alice Maud NEW was not married before her marriage to William RAMSEY. I found this info,

Birth
Alice Maud NEW
Dec Q 1880    South Stoneham    2c  70

Freemantle National School, Southampton, Hampshire
Date of Admission:  11 May 1885
Alice NEW
Residing at:  Millbrook Road
Born at:  Freemantle
Birth date:  05 Sep 1880
Parent:  Henry
Billiard Maker

Odd that the parent name is Henry as the 1881 and 1891 census show her father as Charles a billiard maker. Most of her brothers and sisters went to the same school, and give Charles as the parent name except her older sister Hilda who says Henry and a possible for younger sister Beatrice with father Albert a blacksmith ???

I think I can see this Alice single up to the 1911 census.

This looks like her mother's Probate record which shows Alice is still a spinster in 1931,

Julia Mary NEW  of Canute Villa Varna Road Freemantle Southampton widow died 3 January 1931 at 1 Betley Road West End Hampshire Probate Winchester 6 February to Alice Maud NEW Spinster. effects £285 18s 9d

I would think if there are any relatives out there they would belong to Alice's siblings or William's children if he had been married before.

Regards,
Daisy
