Finding a death date for James Nelson b1857 in Haxey, Lincolnshire.
« on: Tuesday 14 November 17 22:46 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for a death entry / date for;

James Nelson
b 1857 in Haxey, Lincolnshire, England

Parents;
William Nelson b1815 in Haxey, Lincolnshire
Ann Robinson b1823 in Messingham, Lincolnshire - d1873 in Haxey, Lincolnshire

Spouse;
Maria Lockwood b1859 Crowle, Lincolnshire (Married in 1881)

The last residence i can find on the census, is Sculcoates 1901 with his second wife Allee. I can not for the life of me find an entry of his death after this point. Can anyone help me find this out?

Many Thanks

Tim.

Hi
Familysearch has a death in Sculcoates, December 1/4 1906 for a James Nelson, only snag is it gives his birth year as 1861.
Bearing in mind that the accuracy of info on a death certificate regarding age etc. is only as good the knowledge of the informant.

Thank you for your reply. Might be worth ordering this certificate then to find out whether the information matches the family.

If you order it through GRO they are doing online birth and death certificates for £6 at the moment rather than the usual £9.25 for paper ones.

If you look up Alice (not Allee) Nelson on the 1911 on Family Search she is shown as "twice a widow"

Thank you for both of your replies. I am currently building a little list of Certificates that i need to order (to complete all my death dates), so the PDF pilot is going to save me a little money. The 1911 catch is really good, narrows it down to definitely that 10 year period.
