Looking at every message again we did prove that George Montage Cole was born in England, emigrated to South Africa, died in Australia and why he was in Australia.

We did prove that his daughter Gertrude Wynne Shaw was the last child of his first marriage to Matilda Freeland Hogben.

We did prove that Gertrude Wynne Cole, then Mrs Seymour Dallas then Mrs  Bernard Vidal Shaw was born 10 April 1861 and not 10 April 1862 as published in the 1939 Register.

May I please note this reply does not mention that it has been modified in any way.   As I recall, initially it included a question (perhaps rhetorically) wondering about the reasons for George being in Australia.  Then a regular RChatter responded at #45.  Subsequently to #45, this #44 reply was modified removing that question about why George came to Australia. Several further posts later and  it seems to me that #44 has been modified yet again and now reads that the thread shows why George was in Australia.

I will use the R2M button.

Hi there,

No one accused Barry of removing any post.  I do note though that the mentions were of posts being modified without any notation noting that there had been any modification.
