some babies do have fits due to high temperatures (febrile convulsions) - teething can cause mild fevers, so a baby who was very prone to febrile convulsions could have a fit (only one of mine ever did and that was with a temperature over 39 after having chickenpox, but I've heard of parents saying it happened to their child with lower temperatures)

Febrile convulsions are caused more by the speed at which the temperature rises than the temperature that is reached.
