Is your "Austin F Evans born abt 1854" in fact Austin Fisher Evans born and registered in Cirencester in 1861 (mother's maiden name Jennings), and baptised there on 26 May 1861 as son of Richard (a moulder) and Jane?

Thanks for all the extra details.  Yes Austin F Evans would have born in 1861.... sorry too many Evans.  And I got the wrong generation with the 12 children .....  I think we're going to have to resort to pencil and paper, will be easier to understand.

Hi Pete

No problem but just slow down a bit and work one generation at a time as you will find that easier.  They’ve been dead a long time so they ‘ain’t going anywhere

So now you have the family in 1851 we are just left with 1841 and 1861.  Before 1841 you are down to entries in parish registers re births/baptisms and marriages

Here's the 1841 entry with extra son Edwin which puts any marriage between 1826-1828 unless there are children older than Edwin who were not at home in 1841

It has John's parents as Richard (1770)  & Grace (1772) (no maiden name)
