Hi K Garrad:)
Cant seem to find a Marriage for Sarah Ann(Hannah) Frain  And a Moore??
Also Looking for her on a 1891/1901 Census with father listed as john(johannis) No luck yet
Cathy:)

I think that maybe the father's name on the marriage is an error?
And that he should be a Moore :-\

Sarah's age on the 1911 census shows she was born c1885; she would have been 17 when she married in 1902, so unlikely to have been married before?

My great grandfather was one of several Dominick Frains I’ve found. MY DF was born about 1850 and I believe his father was John. I THINK I’ve read that he was from Gorteen. He married Mary Roper at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary in February 1877. My grandfather, Thomas Joseph Frain, was born in November and christened at Our Lady in December. He left for the U.S. in 1896.

The last record I find for them is the birth of my great uncle, Martin, in 1879. I don’t know if they died or left the country or what. Being Irish and Catholic, two children seems rather few.

Has anyone got a Dominick in their tree from Sligo who was born about 1850? I’m sure he was a namesake uncle to some of the other Dominick Frains I’ve seen.

If this is appropriate to post here, my GEDMatch is T491680. I’ve heard from a couple of people who say they’ve found a match, but it’s 7.4 generations back. That gets us back to the late eighteenth century, and I can't yet go back that far.

If anyone can help with information or leads, please let me know. I’ll share what I can with you if you ask.

Thanks. Have a great day! Stay safe.

Dan

Mary8, I tried to send you a message, but it did not send.

My great grandfather was Dominick FRAIN. I’ll be glad to share whatever you need to establish my bona fides.

I think they may have left for work in England about 1880, as I don’t find any mention of them after the baptism of their son Martin in December of 1879.

Hopefully, this agrees with the information you have.

I’m so hoping to hear from you.

Thanks. Stay safe!

Dan
