Are you sure it was Elan. There's a Tyddyn y felin to the north of Llanrug - it's the nearest that I can find on the old OS maps:

Just found this on Google search:

Says it was built on site of a two old barns.

Hi Neil

Take the road opposite the PO in Llanrug, Ffordd Crawia. The first roads you come to are Hafan Elan on the left and Cefn Elan on the right. According to the 1840 tithe map on Cynefin the 8 acre small holding crossed the road at this point although it was then spelt Tyddyn Helen. The occupier at the time was John Roberts.

The farmhouse was behind the trees through the entrance which is opposite Cefn Elan.
