Gotta go shopping for a turkey for Thanksgiving and am thankful that I have met so many caring, sharing folks in the past few weeks.

I presume that means you are in the US? It is useful to put that on your profile, so that when people are looking for things they don't tell you to go to the local register office etc.
Thanks for the suggestion, will do that shortly. Have a good day

Dawn,
Go to your Profile, then Look and Layout, and the option is the 2nd to last one "Use quick reply on topic display", and use the drop down box to activate it, show on default.  When you have made the change, click on the change profile tab, the quick reply box is below the Reply button.
Cheers
KHP
Thanks KHP.  Sounds complicated ???  Have to look into it.

..... How would you reply to a single individual?

You can use the "quote" function as per Carol's diections, or you can just reply on the thread, and direct your reply to the person, mentioning their name.

You  can also send someone a personal message (PM) which no one else can see. This is generally only used for private conversations, often regarding living people who we are not allowed to mention on the publuc forum. It is not really advisable to use PMs for topics that are being discussed on the boards as well, because it is impossible to keep track of replies given by others and it can all get a bit messy.  :)

"it is impossible to keep track of replies" that's where I am right now. Probably will embarrass myself when I see this ;D Appreciate your help.  So much to learn, so little time.

So much to learn, so little time.

Hiya 3Kittycats, don't worry about learning everything straight away, just find your way around in your own time. We have all made mistakes when we were new to Rootschat, and many of us still make them years later, me included!  We are all here to help, and the moderators are also a friendly bunch who will guide you if you need it.

I think Treetotal (Carol) summed it up in an earlier post when she said "Just join in and have fun"

Robbins - Wolverhampton.
Spooner - Monmouthshire & Wolverhampton.
Warner & Loundes - Dudley/West Bromwich.
Dod(g)son - Heysham/Liverpool/Wolverhampton

Jool, thanks for the encouragement. I am having fun - just get impatient with myself at times. I think I inherited it!  :D

If you need any help, how about starting a thread on the appropriate board.

Learning how to use a new forum takes a little while and the best way to learn is to jump in at the deep end.  :) Give it a try!

Let us know where and when you post so we can have a peek and see how you are getting on.  ;)
