Hi SANDRA,
Thank You for your information. Did Reg. fight at Passchendale?
I'm not sure where you are related to the HYDE family. Could you please confirm and say if you have a 'Tree' giving genealogical info for previous years, thanks.
Colin

UK, WWI Service Medal and Award Rolls, 1914-1920 - Leonard C R Hyde 1914 - 1920 - Household Cavalry and Cavalry of the Line 230292 - Corps of Hussars. Q.O.D. Yeo - Previous Units:   Dor Yeo. Pte. 930
Granted the Victory Medal and british War Medal.
Disem 24 June 1919

Looks as if he probably died after discharge from the army - perhaps as a result of illness or wounds  ???

Of the 3 Queens Own Dorset Yeomanry units only  1/1st served outside UK and that was at Gallipoli and in Egypt and Palestine so Passchendaele does not look right unless he was serving with some other unit that is not reflected in his medal roll record or elsewhere. His record does not have the 1914/15 Star which units at Gallipoli earned so it looks as if he joined after the end of 1915.

Technically he was still committed to the army when he died in November 19.  He was disembodied in Jun (ie back in civilian life) but,as was normal, placed on the Class Z reserve which remained in effect until 1920.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,
