I am looking for an obituary for this man, who died in Toronto 21 Oct 1955

Hi Jan,

His obituary is in the Globe and Mail newspaper, Oct 24 1955, page 32. 

He died at the Wellesley Hospital on Oct 21, 1955.  He was 49 years old.  He had lived at 28 Oakburn place, Willowdale (that is an area in the north, central part of Toronto).  Husband of Elsie Gell.  Son of Edwin Gell (Ted) and Jessie Gell.  Brother of Richard Gell.  Interment Pine Hills Cemetery.

Many Canadian libraries provide free access to the Globe and Mail archives.  I am not aware of any other way to access this database. 

The Toronto Star newspaper archives are available through several libraries - and there is a paid site as well...
