Have found grave etc but no hint of marriage church. Am only helping some-one so cannot send for marriage cert. At least now I can say that I have tried and they will have to send for marriage cert.

Now that could be a massive clue, with Septimus looking as if he was a merchant seaman, the Church of Saint John the Evangelist is right beside Goole docks.
You cannot drive into Goole without seeing the spire.

I also believe that it is Church of England, many of my ancestors were married there and none were Catholics.

There was a Catholic church at St Thomas's (now dis-used, closed in 1996), and merged with the church of St Joseph's.
