Noakes lookup request
« on: Sunday 19 November 17 19:18 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I am looking for the baptism of John Noakes, probably in Westfield, in around 1770.

His marriage record in Hastings in 1792 gives him as "of Westfield", and the date 1770 is calculated from his burial record in 1848, which gives his age at death as 78.

Any leads much appreciated.

Ben

Strictly speaking the "of Westfield" in 1792 only means at the time of the marriage so not necessarily where he was born.  I can't see a baptism at that time in Westfield in the SFHG records.  There do seem to be some "Noaks" records so it will be worth searching that variant.
A possible in Battle in 1770, son of John and Mary Noaks, but that is just guesswork.
