William Watson of Faversham
« on: Sunday 19 November 17 22:29 GMT (UK) »
I have recently been making some notes on the 1634 Will of William Watson of Faversham and would be greatful if someone could check the transcriptions of I have made from the attached extracts.

Where I am not sure of words or a set of words I have used a set of dots (.........)

Any words in [] are words which I think I have read correctly.

I'll attach the images separately for ease. The first image is attached with this post and the rest will follow it.

I can read the majority of the Will fairly easily so just need a few of the words in this section checked to be sure I've read this bit right.

Many Thanks

Matt

Matt,  are you doing all these wills for your own family?

You are so lucky if so to be able to find so many of you family leaving Wills from so far back and from so many branches of you family.
I have been watching all your names with interest and wondering how you can find so many from so long ago

I thought I was lucky to find four over several generations!!    ;)

Matt, you haven't posted your transcription.

Oops I forgot those! I had a few problems getting the images attached as I had to keep reducing them in size.

I will upload the transcription notes I made in the next few days.

Hi

Yes I am collecting them for my own family research, although not every will I get relates to someone in my tree! I do find them useful though for working out relationships, especially the wills of in-laws and cousins.

This Will was one I collected a few years ago when visiting Canterbury as I thought he was related to my Faversham Watsons. I then decided he probably wasn't related to my Watsons but kept a copy of the will in case it proved useful. Now I have found I have Watson links in Chilham and Boughton under Blean and by researching those it now turns out that this will relates to one of that branch.

It turns out I may have Watson ancestors on both sides of my family, and they may be related.

Even when the wills don't turn out to be related to my ancetsors they are fascinating to read ;)

Matt
